An abbreviation for Before Diminished Calissae. One of the two time periods tracked by the common Aedelorian calendar. This dating method counts the number of years prior to the Withering. in the Verdant Valley in southern Ealia. Approximately 7 million people in Aedelor are Arazi, most of whom live in Arazi with some minority communities in Tizano, Darkana, and Eposaria. Arazi are usually either human (~35%), ak'arii (~30%), or üneküm (~20%), with notable dwarven (~5%) and lohiken (~5%) minorities.
The Arazi people have a complicated and storied history with dragons in the area with their ancestor cultures often fighting for or against dragons in the Verdant Valley and nearby Dalazar. This divide caused many fractured clans in the region which have all influenced the collective Arazi culture over hundreds of years, especially after the unification of the region by the first Arazi Maharaja and his elite group of dragon hunters called Dragoons in 500 BDC.
