Casamir is an enigmatic young man who seems to have capabilities beyond his years. He enjoys meeting new people and helping them when he's able. He is not only a talented wizard but also proficient in swordplay and has travelled much of the world alone. Casamir is a young human man with fair skin and a face that turns many heads.

His eyes are pale blue and his hair is an unusual platinum blonde colour which he shaggily lets hang around his ears. He keeps his face clean shaven which makes him look even younger than he actually is. He stands 5'10“ tall and carries himself with a confident posture. He frequently likes to travel with a white owl he calls Maxine.

The best way to pick Casamir out of a crowd would be his distinctive attire. When adventuring, Casamir wears an elaborate multilayered outfit and carries a distinctive sword. He wears a light blue button-up shirt with some light leather strapped over top to protect his sides and chest, as well as leather armguards. Over this, he wears a blue cloak with silver trim which is held under leather spaulders strapped across his chest. He also dons a turquoise sash around his waist under a belt which carries his sheath and spellbook. His longsword is of fine make but most memorable for its silver winged cross-guard which has a blue gem at its center.

Personality

Casamir has an unexpectantly aloof nature and often makes light of very serious topics as a way of lightening the atmosphere. He is friendly and often welcoming of strangers, enjoying the company of newly met people. He takes a particular interest in other adventurers and likes to push people to see what they can do. He loves to talk and even fills the subtle silences of battle with quips and taunts. He thinks very highly of himself and some might even consider him a narcissist, but he genuinely enjoys helping others and does many good deeds for others as he travels the world. He is particularly fond of tracking down people who had previously given him directions and rewarding them with magical items of his creation.

Casamir loves nobody as much as he loves himself. But by the flame, he's good at what he does.

Biography

Casamir was born in Caralis, the son of the adventurer Zale Dragard and Lennor Dragard. His family's wealth afforded him a very comfortable upbringing. Casamir even showed an early interest in arcane magic, something that his father was eager to encourage. For a time, his parents considered sending Casamir across the Binding Sea to Valdar to have better access to an arcane education. However, they ultimately decided against it. Casamir's father instead would buy every magical trinket and scroll for sale from wandering merchants and adventurers for Casamir to study, who largely was self-taught in this manner.

When Casamir was 15, a terrible plague took hold of Caralis that the people called Nightfever. It killed many people in the city and nearly claimed the lives of his parents as well, but they were able to recover. Battling the illness left them both a little weakened and only three short years later they were attacked by bandits on the road. Zale tried to defend his family, but left weakened by the Nightfever he was unable to do so. The bandits cut down Casamir's parents but spared him, leaving him an orphan.

Casamir joined the Eposarian army and served for two years, becoming quite proficient in swordplay in addition to his growing skills with magic. Casamir became obsessed with creating magical items that could help people in a variety of ways, convinced that his father could have defeated the bandits with magical aid. After two years in the army, Casamir left his homeland and began travelling the world in search of more magical knowledge and adventure.

Adventures

Casamir travels nearly constantly, very rarely staying in one place for very long. After initially leaving the Crescent Vale, Casamir went first to the Valdarian Empire where he knew that magic was popular and held in high regard. It was here that he learnt much of what he knows about enchanting items with magic, or what Valdarians call enspelling items. He stayed here for a little over one year before moving on. Casamir's journeys have taken him to most countries in the world and a few out-of-the-way places. He has spent time in Coriani, Islingar, Kamazar, Gilramshyre, and Westmark, not staying much longer than a year in any of them. He is keen to take odd jobs to help pay his way and support his search for new arcane knowledge. During his travels, he had heard of a city of high-elves in Thilmelian far to the north of Ealia, and decided it would be his final destination.

In 525 DC, Casamir was travelling south through Westmark trying to find Oakfield in the form of a bird. He came upon The Dawn's Watch who had been traveling north, and asked them for directions. They pointed him in the right direction and helped him on his way. Later, in human form, he approached the group again after relocating them using magic. He thanked them for the directions and rewarded them with a magical item of his own creation before departing from them again.

His adventures would then bring him to Beldihr where he was summoned at the request of Bromdal Rockmane. As it would happen, The Dawn's Watch was also present and wished to speak to Bromdal themselves. Casamir lied to Bromdal, claiming that the Dawn's Watch were his apprentices. Bromdal asked Casamir to investigate the disappearance of some of his people out of fear that a great beast was responsible. Casamir convinced the Dawn's Watch to handle it, which Bromdal hesitantly agreed to. After their success, Casamir became very interested in the group and even accompanied them in their travels for a while, becoming their friend and ally. He could not travel with them for much longer but gifted them with half of a pair of magical stones which would allow them to speak over vast distances.

Helping Dawn's Watch

This scale might just be the most powerful thing I have ever enchanted.

Casamir Dragard

The Dawn's Watch would turn to Casamir for help on several occasions. They asked him for help in creating some rune-chalk for Edwin Harper, which he was able to do after they secured a sizeable enough diamond for him to use. They also sought his aid in battling The Sparkbringer, during which he provided a key opportunity to escape her lair as it collapsed around them through the use of teleportation magic. Ouda also personally asked Casamir for aid in creating a new focus that would help him cast his spells again. Casamir found this very interesting because he'd never created an arcane focus before. Through study and a little experimentation, he devised a method to infuse a dragon scale with Ouda's magical blood so that he could use it to channel his magic. It was a success, and he dubbed it his most powerful enchantment to date. He then travelled to Nurfalduhr, also at the request of Ouda, to render aid to the dwarves there. This was his last known location.
