An abbreviation for Before Diminished Calissae. One of the two time periods tracked by the common Aedelorian calendar. This dating method counts the number of years prior to the Withering.. Also called the Everknot, he is deified by those who value plant life and those who desire cosmic harmony. He is the Godking of Yatas and rules over all the realms in it.

Artellan served in his mother Vitalinus' court during the Age of Darkness on Aedelor when he was only the size of a sapling. At the behest of his consort Serenewyn, he pulled one of his only branches from his trunk and hurled it towards Aedelor so that a forest may grow for the newly arriving elves, helping Aedelor more resemble their original home of Aedurun. That branch would become the Mother Tree in Dalazar, which in turn would eventually seed all of the forests of modern Aedelor. As his forests spread he grew in power to the point that he is now a twisting labyrinth of branches with no discernible beginning or end.
