and began in the Zameria region of Valdar. Approximately 3 million people consider themselves Zamerian, only two-thirds of which live in present-day Zameria with sizable communities in neighbouring Duntry and Tarshah. Nearly all Zamerians are human (~95%), while most non-human Zamerians live outside of Zameria.

Zamerian peoples originally hail from a distant land that was destroyed long ago during the Thousand Year Wars where they were slaves to giantkind. Foreseeing its destruction, the giants fled the land with little concern for the humans they would leave behind to die. A benevolent giant, known to the Zamerians as Lunasila, transported tens of thousands of them on her flying fortress the south of present-day Valdar, where they would make a new home for themselves. At the time of the Withering, Zamerian culture spanned most of modern-day Zameria, Duntry, and parts of Tarshah, as well as being the direct progenitor of the Yaran peoples neighbouring them to the north.

Taboos

Zamerian people are averse to almost all things draconic, and worship or admiration of dragons will likely result in being a social outcast.

Symbology

Banner: A large circle is cut out of the top center, with three six-pointed stars on either side. A wavy line runs vertically, underneath a ship with unfurled dark sails, over a purple field.

Colours: Purple, silver

Motto: “Haven of the lost”

Values: Justice, Freedom, Sanctuary

History: The banner represents Zamerians being led to sanctuary by Lunasila, the moon flanked by six stars. The stars represent the six smaller islands that followed the light of her fortress in the sky, where the Zamerians rode. These six islands were distributed along the shore of southern Valia, the first landing among the cliffs and settling Zameros.

History

When Lunasila delivered the human refugees to southern Valia long ago, it was still during the thousand-year wars and the land was unstable and dangerous as giants and dragons warred in the area. Six clans of humans from different places on the abandoned continent were brought on six small flyteholdes that followed Lunasila's in the sky. These clans reached the land and eventually spread out across what is now Valdar.

The Zamair clan created the first settlement which they called Zameros, which was built within the cliffs along the sea. Tunnels and underground homes were carved out there to hide from the callissae, as many mortals had to do at this time. While the tunnels are no longer used today, you can still see the holes in the cliff face where they dug out air holes, and one large circular hole highest up the cliff. This is where the first shrine to Lunasila was made, where they would watch the sky for Lunasila's fabled return.
